Eve's character flaw thus far is her naivety in regards to the nature of human prejudices. Like how she's clearly surprised at the idea of humanity possibly considering beastkin to be monsters in this chapter. Or how she doesn't quite understand lies and cover-ups so might not even consider...
So I get the core point of the story is Mori's coming into her sense of self despite the attitudes of those around her. And there is certainly a tragic irony in Sano, the person who helped her to do this, being unable to really do the same...
But oof, that was rough.
She isn't, yeah.
The "we're childhood friends that should be better than some girlfriend" bit just struck an interestingly similar chord. Yuki is waaaaayyy more hostile and intentionally manipulative.
It's a shame this is ending so soon, there's a parallel between how Niji has fixated on an idealized version of Remu and how Asuki was fixated on her initially shakey recollection of Meguru that could have been worth exploring. There's a key difference of course, in that one pair was once in a...
I was thinking along the same lines with having potentially caused the landslide.
Was initially leaning towards possible homophobia on Sae's part rather than a general OTP obsession. The whole "you ruin the vibes between these pairs" and "don't get near her or you'll become dirty too" kind of...
Sae's hair is different than everyone else's so that's another indication that she was in disguise. Prior chapters only mention that Hasumi ran after another classmate but they don't seem to recall who that was.
If Ito has always been the target there's indications that she's had some manner of...
I think that was the ex-boyfriend from the last chapter with his kids, not either of the protagonist's kids. Still pretty crappy for them that he reconsiders cheating after he checks in on them though.
Kind of reads like Masaki is either somehow tied to or aware of just whatever/whoever the curse is. That smile did not seem like something she had any sense of humor or shame behind.
The follow up story to this series, the one starring the Kimi-Chan character, is the two part "Love Detective Agency" story collected here: https://mangadex.org/title/f36a2abd-6a17-41ab-81e5-385b3da6cae0/renai-joshi-file
Just in case anyone was curious.
🎶And if she said this life ain't good enough
She would give her life to lift her up
She would change her life to better suit her mood...
Cause she's so smooth 🎶
Thanks for the translation!
50 will probably be up on Pixiv by the end of the month. There's usually about a week or two difference between when a chapter is posted on their Fanbox to when it ends up on Pixiv, and 50 was just posted on the former on the 11th.
Yeah, I'm kind of expecting Azuki sculpting the face to send her into a panic over why it looks like Remu and that being the exact moment she meets the actual Meguru again. Which should be... something, lol.
From what little clues we have Meguru possibly has a purity or shaming fetish, so...
