I don't mind new characters and all, but this does start to give off the impression that the author is meandering about, continuing to introduce new side characters and side plots, because they're uncertain of where they want to go with the main plot.

From what we've seen in the flashbacks so far, it appears as if her memory gaps, blurred visions, and fainting spells are all symptoms of what is ultimately wrong with her, not the cause.
