Garcia was a tragic figure and had a lot more depth than I expected when I first caught up like 10 years ago. I think he and Kichi would have been extremely close if he survived, with Garcia becoming more and more human. I understand Kichi's fixation on the remaining Garcia clones in the sequel...

Interesting, when reading Tough, I assumed Kibo had won the tournament since he killed Garcia. But the winner died and the loser lived. It makes sense, he didn't have the aura of a champion at the beginning of Tough. I love that a 20+ year old manga can still have twists.

Yes, the burger guy remembered Wagatsuma from his original past. So he came from a timeline that was already warped. In 3 years the next slipper will remember Gaku. I am sure Wagatsuma will return. His previous bad end had him up and leave, in this timeline it will be different.
