It has finally dawned on my why this series gripped me so hard. It reminds me of Spice and Wolf, in a broad sense. Definitely deserving of the rating.

The real question is whether it was axed or whether it was always meant to be a promotional piece for the novel. Either way one of the best settings i've ever seen in a manga, phenomenal all around. I'm gonna miss this one.

This felt like one of those novel preview endings, but AFAIK there isn't a LN for this? Very disappointing cancelation, it felt like it was finally hitting its stride, found its identity, and then poof.
