I recall there was an age difference between them though not too large but that can definitely hold someone back especially the responsible kind of person the MC seems to be.

Didn't realize Zeppelin borrowed the Icarus imagery from an already existing artwork, but I'm not sure Yuzuki Hikaru was inspired by the Icarus myth or imagery since her poses really don't match up. More likely I think they were intending a more generic angelic depiction.

In these fantasy settings I feel like nobles and royalty would be far more cautious of belittling superhuman heros. No way has some noble not fucked around and found out how quickly a hero with more pride than sense can make mincemeat of them and all their guards.
