Releasing criminals by declaring a general amnesty means "winning the hearts of the people"? I doubt that, I really do doubt that. More likely it actually draws the hatred and disapproval from the victims and their families. A general amnesty for people who commited a minor crime for survival...

Well, in about 5 billion years our sun will start to run out of hydrogen to fuse, so it will enter its dying period of another 2-3 billion years. So the part about life coming to an end in 5 billion years might actually be inspired by reality.
