    Hmm... so there's an actual editorial production company that houses (employs?) authors,
    and the manga that is produced is then credited with the company's name as the author.

    So that one story plot in Bakuman is actually real?
    I didn't know that.

    I mean, I know they say that most of the stories in Bakuman are pretty close to reality,
    but I thought that one is far from it.

    @Doedoel yeah, after failing creating the "crowd sourcing story" manga, didn't he create a company near the end? And announced that they'll publish a manga under the company name?

    Yeah yeah. I read Bakuman back on my junior highschool days. That manga inspired me to be a manga artist

    As someone who is always trying to keep track of my manga reading progress, it always bothers me when there is a discrepancy between the weekly/monthly raw chapter numbering, the volume release chapter numbering, and the scanlator chapter numbering.
    It's very confusing.

    Finishing up reading a manga that caused some firestorm on this forum (and then spiraled into a meme outside) a couple years back.
    Not entirely satisfied, but I felt vindicated by the conclusion.

    The dilemma.
    Didn't want to make multiple posts just for this least interesting minor gimmick,
    but putting 3 imgur gifs in one post just makes the post so big it takes up the entire screen,
    and placing it inside spoiler tags makes the gifs not show unless clicked.

    So Hametsu no Oukoku will end its "First Part" of the story in volume 13.
    Wow. That is ambitious.
    How many parts will there be?
    I think that is the longest "first part" I've read so far.
    Even stuff like One Piece and Chainsaw Man ended theirs in volume 11.

    uuh... actually no, scratch that.
    If we count the whole story before time leap as one part, then KamiNomi was the longest one with 19 volumes.
    Tho the 2nd part was only 7 volumes.

    I played RE from 1 to 7 both the original and the remakes also Veronica, (didn't play village)
    and I must admit, I never read and followed the story and lore at all

    Literally me with Tekken storyline. I used to skip all the cutscenes and then half of the time I was just confused why these big bulky sweaty dudes were fighting each other with their Leotard on.

    Same for me, but for DOOM Eternal : i've skipped all the cutscenes and didn't follow the story at all. That's not supposed to be here, anyway. The story/lore of the DOOM 2016 was better and presented to the player in a better way. I hate cutscenes.

    The story/lore of the RE serie was very good for the first three episodes, CVX was the start of the downfall and RE4 was like a restart but not from scratch. Another saga that should have ended before it became a lore mess.

    When the anime subs are so BAD that there's a huge difference between what I read and what I hear,
    to me, it takes away all the enjoyment, no matter how good the anime is.

    Modern lingo aside, it is not unusual for there to be a line or two of discrepancy between the translation and what is actually said.
    Sometimes I'll be like "oh, they put a spin on this line, cool" or whatever. It's not the end of the world.
    But this one made me go out of my way to sail the seven seas to get a different subs.
    Which thankfully exists.

    That was also my reaction when I was sitting there leisurely in the break room and I overheard the boys talking about a girl got stabbed while streaming.
    That got me curious because I thought it was a stalker viewer case. But apparently it was because of a debt.

    Yeah allegedly the streamer owned the dude 25k and wouldn't give it back even after multiple attempts and police inquiries. No wonder he snapped and stabbed her to death. You can't mess with people's money.

    I wonder is it because there are just too many manga these days that are very similar, too similar even, that they are now adapting axed manga into anime

    They are probably adapting it because their AI thought what to animate and what not depending on what is trending.
    If it was a light-novel manga adaptation then it's fine, the anime still have a good source material to work with.
    But if it is an original manga then good luck with that.

    Haven't read SLF for a looong time. Basically since it got licensed. Now that the anime is closing in to where I left off, I thought I'd read it again.
    Opened up the latest chapter just to see where the story is now, and I was like
    "huh? did the art change?"
