In the panels for this chapter it only showed sakichi, yuzuki, and baren on horses. I can't remember if yuzuki was considered a potential candidate but besides that I still feel like baren isnt the orochi

I agree. Even if the artist traced a horse model at least they drew it and colored it instead of just placing a 3D model of a horse in the panels. The artwork just doesn't look that great when its mixed with 2D and 3D that's lazily done.
