So much for carrying on the manga following them as a couple. I figured it would end not too long after they got together; the story felt extremely aimless and meandering even before Marin and Gotou quit beating around the bush. Honestly, in the end the leads being so gosh darn likable and the interesting technical look into cosplaying and tailoring is what carried this manga, because otherwise each and every one of the drama and love triangle teasing that essentially all ended with “JK lol, u seriously thought the story was going to go in an interesting direction? Fucking nerd!” pulled it towards utter shit territory.

You think so? That one feels like it is on its way there.
It's definitely got room for another 40 or so chapters between a Winter Comiket arc and the inevitable valentine's day arc. Plus the current arc's definitely not ending anytime soon. So at least another year or two of 2.5D.
Lilysa is definitely primed for getting a spinoff sequel that's just cosplay battle shonen if there was any desire to extend it.

Hwhat, yeah these past couple arcs blew but I didn't think it'd just end instantly afterwards.

FINAL CHAPTER NEXT??? WHAT ALREADY??? GODDAMMIT

I hate when a series is ending so suddenly and I can't stand authors blowing it by doing it

Like seriously no proper final arc? Just "oh it's over now!" That's never been satisfying

Thank you to everyone in Potteto for all your hard work for all this time. I'm so glad you let us see such a wonderful series, and it's been a joy to read. I'm genuinely so glad we get to see it end on such a high note, and I'm even more glad to be able to recommend the full thing without reservation, now that I know they stuck the landing.

What a fantastic, lovely series.

To be honest I knew it was ending next chapter mid chapter lmao, after seeing it happen so many times you just can feel it I guess? Anyways, I think the series is fine by itself, although I can't recommend it to people that don't care about the cosplay parts, since they are quite extensive, RIP to whoever tolerated that in hopes of some cute couple developments lmao.

If you look back, you can see when the author seemed to have suddenly decided they wanted to end the series.

They set things up with that mega-popular cosplay she did to turn into a whole arc, and then nothing came of it; they got together all of a sudden too. Then that girl from his traumatic memory returned after all this time building it up and it was settled in one chapter.
And all of that happened in the span of 2-3 chapters.

The first 100 chapters of this series were a 9/10, but these last chapters since around chapter 100 have been like a 6/10.

Final? FINAL?! What do you mean final?! There was so much more that they could done with this series and you’re just going to end when they become a couple. T_T why must you rip my heart out like this.

I wish more mangakas had the courage to write couple life instead of ending their series soon after the main couple gets together.

It's especially egregious for this series. I started reading this because of cool cosplays, cosplay lore, and character development and then was blindsided by the romance plot which I gladly welcomed. But then the series is over as soon as the romance is resolved? There are so many things this premise could have delved into that we'll never see unless he decides to make a continuation.
I like the duality we have here in the manga community. I was just reading another manga but with lots of chapters after the main couple actually becomes a couple, and there's this one comment saying something like "after the main couple in a romcom confirms their relationship and becomes a couple, the series doesn't have much meaning anymore and becomes boring"

Yeah…what the fuck.

This is…there are like so many directions this could have gone. Is the mangaka tired of it? Do they not feel confident on executing an established couple? I agree with the guy above who mentioned a few of the massive events that were resolved rather quickly was kind of off. Like the girl who caused his trauma.

Not even a time skip chapter to see how things turned out. Damn.

Thank you so much for all the translations…this is just crazy.

I dont get why you would end it next chapter from a business pov. You couldnt possibly make something new that would be anywhere near as popular as this is. Anyways ggs i enjoyed the ride.

I read the news yesterday and really was quite surprised and seeing this chapter, like the small list of things-to-do Kitagawa told Gojou, I can't help but think that Fukuda Shinichi really had a lot more still in store for this couple's adventures together. They basically skipped more than 6 months worth of happenings in this chapter. New friends could've been met, Akira's and their other friends' personal development could've delved into, the search for the Hanniel-hime's cosplayer rabbit hole could've been fun to see how it goes deeper, etc.
But I guess, for various reasons, they probably thought it best to wrap things up now as they are but yeah, it's still sad to see them go so suddenly (and with it feeling quite rushed).

At this point I think we need to make a list of manga that continue after the main couple get together, because it’s clear that people get heated whenever this happens.
If anyone has recommendations give me them

It's a big reason insomniacs after school and the fragrant flowers bloom with dignity are two of my absolute favorites the majority of those the protagonists are actually together
