Hmmm... now that we know Kraft was the hero from ages ago, could it be that the humans misunderstood the legend of the hero's sword? It can only be pulled out by the true hero, yes, meaning the original one who put it there. Humans are simply unable to comprehend that the true hero was a near-immortal elf who might want to come back thousands of years later to pick up his sword once more.

I'm glad someone else noticed exactly which sword Kraft is carrying in that statue...

I went to check in ch. 25, and Kraft's statue's sword is not the Hero's Blade. They clearly have different pommels and hilts. Would've been cool if it was, though.

Making a mental note to come back and compare the the other statue if we ever see a depiction of Sage Ewig.

Oh cool, I’m glad to see that I wasn’t just imagining things when I thought Kraft and Gorilla looked super similar!

Of course, I ended up thinking Kraft secretly was Gorilla for a little while because of that, forgetting that Kraft was meant to be even older than Frieren, but still, it’s nice to know my dumb idea wasn’t completely unfounded.
