This is just more evidence against humans, but Iren is such a mentally traumatized people pleaser, that he thinks this proves humans are good somehow? I'm getting really tired of how desperate Iren is to save them. Just declare them worthy already or give up. I hate Iren playing pretend to deceive himself into thinking humans are good people. Iren acts like the victim of extensive child abuse, desperate for his abusive parents (humanity) to finally accept him after they abandoned him. And if his "parents" still reject him, he will make sure that they are safe at least, even if he has to sacrifice his own loved ones to save humanity.
