Oh hey, I was just looking at that portable x-ray a couple of weeks ago. Assuming it's the one I remember, it had a rather generic name for such a specific application (really GE? Optima is the best you could do?)

Really feeling bad for our girl there. I usually like to say failing miserably is the fastest way to learn but not when someone's life is at stake :aquadrink:

Wild stories there, thanks for sharing 'em! :meguupog:

Since when the operators decide the priorities? As far as I know, they open the door and serve the next on the list: there are dedicated medics and strict procedures to sort patients on that list. Also, that ortho patient was lucky to get a scan at all: in my experience, you just get rescheduled...

This is the reality in radiology departments: every specialty/patient streams would argue that they deserve the first go. No matter who you prioritise someone else would be unhappy. Most of the times I just make the heads of respective units argue amongst themselves first before getting back to me.

Still there is absolutely ZERO reason to send an orthopaedic follow up patient outside of business hours when there’s a SOLE radiographer. That orthopaedic surgeon who referred the lady needs a stern talking to by the hospital and radiology department admins.

The brand logo on the wheels look like Shimazu. Probably a MobileDaRT series model?

Most Japanese radiology clinics perfer local brands like Canon/Toshiba, Shimazu, Fujifilm and German Siemens over American ones due to various economic and cultural reasons.

Given the title of this case and the abdominal patient guy, it's clear something bad is going to happen. I hope they don't place all the blame on her, the kind of night she had is probably rare with one person on call and is a lot less indicative of her actual skill.
