It helps to use a rubber or foam mat to give better padding under your arms. I've seen them up to an inch thick which makes it much softer and more comfortable

None of us really know how close the manga's ending is. You can easily read this chapter as a time-stretcher to get the volume, or just continue the calm, measured pace if you want.
