So if they hadn't brought their weapons they wouldn't end up fighting the mask

Well, since my knowledge is from the WN, and not the LN (which may or may not have changed some parts of what happens after the mansion fight).

Overall,
Nothing meaningful changes in regards to Ark's Party relationship with Cry.
Eclair, the noble girl, is now completely afraid of Cry.
Nothing really happens to Liz, though she and Sytry both go to

which is one of the segways to the next story arc.
As for what everyone thinks of Cry, it's still the same as it was already mentioned, they all still think he's a very calculating person whose goals are beyond their understanding.
