Yesn't, Cry said for them not to bring their weapons because he thought that it would just be a matter of talking with the girl and getting the mask, but as it'll turns out

(from the WN,) the girl will initially not attack Ark, but once she sees his sword she'll think that they're enemies and become aggressive, which Ark and his party will wrongly assume that Cry telling them to not bring weapons was for avoiding combat with the mask, which they ended up not listening to by bringing their weapons already assuming there would be a fight.
So if they hadn't brought their weapons they wouldn't end up fighting the mask

no the mask will do nothing in Cry hand since Cry is absolute 0, the mask main function is to unlock talent of someone and in Cry hand the mask cant function
