There were already rumours going on the Japanese sides that Volume 2 got cancelled but retail sites still listed today as the release date. It even got removed from the release calendar on the Kadokawa website a while ago and there's been no more updates since, so I guess it's confirmed that it's now cancelled.

I assumed them saying it wasn't as exciting as expected meant they weren't physically attracted to each other but like a page later that seems to not be the case? Eh.
