Good point. Unless the witch is protecting them from bigger threats and/or hiding the other women from Kanejou, I don't see any other reason why she needed to extend her lifespan by eating one of their arms.

But she's already looks and hooked up like that, so just eating arms might not be that effective, or Kanejou did some SERIOUS damage to her that she's still recovering thousands of years later and needed holographic assistance.

You joke, but that's honestly a reasonable explanation. There are plenty of serial killer rapists like the golden state killer or Edmund Kemper whose motivations was that very issue. Not the sole issue, but it was definitely one of the issues.
