i cant say i really get where this story is going at all. somehow the MC is really naive but then you have these plots that keep allowing him to not actually grow. And then now hes going to want to kill thousands of people? why? the fuck is the point of that?

Also again im really not getting this understanding about 'someone sent mercenaries after you, and you shouldnt feel like you should be angry about this or wonder who it was who sent them after you. "thinking they are terrible people" uh... i mean i prob dont think they are literally the devil, but they did actually pay someone money to have me killed? so... fuck off?

At a guess, it's got winged eyebrows and a big mouthful of teeth. Apart from that, I don't know if there's colored art of it, but since alternate translations for "dasai" (the word usually translated as "lame") are "tacky" and "unfashionable" it could simply have a really loud color scheme.

This is Japanese isekai manga. MC is either naive idealist from safest country in the world (with best rice and soy sauce) or traumatised shut-in psychopath.

In a way Touya still treat this world as a game, not the same way as those girls, but as game nonetheless. The old man is right, who are you going to kill in your berserk? The world is at war so your class change attempt is not just a title and costume!

Is it because “I was best of the best of the best before because I was berserker”? He is already best of the best of the best, and even proved that he doesn’t need to be any fighter class to beat the crap out of so-called hero (and other mercs) with a huge-arse piece of junk called a greatsword or something.

I think part of it is because a good chunk of his gear, combat experience and combat knowledge heavily relies on what he knew as a Berserker. It might be even entirely possible that he has gear strictly only a Berserker can use.
AFAIR (because it's been too long at this rate) half the reason he's been winning as much as he has as a Sage is most likely his raw stats from level grinding, making it so he's just far above anyone else he's actually fought, even if he's doing things mostly as a kind of magic swordsman.

Power leveling - yes, that is the reason why he is way ahead. Also some in-game knowledge how to handle specific groups and individual high-effort monsters. And some cheat-level gear, which is not tied to him being berserker.
Also assumption that he got some high-level exclusive gear usable by berserker only sounds contradictory to the logic that it was his on-the-whim char that he used as a luggage/warehouse. High level berserker-only gear probably was left on his primary character before he was isekai-ed. At least the most important one, like that disintegrating armour. Isn’t his current class is already advanced/high level and equals to berserker? And gear he wears was like-high in the game too? Maybe not on the par of ultimate restricted items, but still allows him to beat the crap out of anyone and have some snacks afterwards.

For me the whole obsession feels too forced and retarded.

Maybe it's a mistake? The world only seems to have 1 moon. In fact, in chapter one, they mentioned summoning only working on a "full moon", singular.
