It's not romantic love. It's platonic love at an extreme level. Thanks for your hard work, BA!
It's great that an anime adaptation has finally been announced! I hope it maintains the aesthetic of the manga, as it's part of its success.
Also, I humbly request for the "girls' love" tag to be added to this series. Remi's love for Emi is unmatched, and it's her raison d'etre (as proved once again by this epilogue).
This series, despite being so short, will forever be one of my favorite manga of all time. Remi will continue to be my PFP as long as I can.
the child ending feels weird asl, they shouldve been Yuri instead, she didn't NOT like angel.
Even to the very end she loved nobody but Emi, however the story had to bend over backwards to make it straight for some reason.
I'm not expecting Emi to love her back but this whole situation is super weird and feels really bad.
I would have rather Emi get the adult homunculus body but if she prefers to start over from scratch as Remi's daughter then that's fine. And she'll have the original star maiden as her oniichan lol?
I feel like losing all of your memories is tantamount to death so this doesn't seem like a good ending to me. Plus the dynamics of their relationship is going to change to that of mother and daughter.
While I definitely do have mixed feelings about Emi becoming her child, this was still a good ending. Seeing how happy and emotional Remilia was made me tear up a bit aswell, I'm so happy for her. And thank you for translating this masterpiece!
I like this final touch of fulfilling Emi's wish for happiness with the original heroine by making them siblings in their new life.
They both deserve it after what they've been through.
I'm a little curious about one detail though.
Remilia was a little vague about the exact point at which Pina left her hijacked body. I hope she noped out before the worse of it.
I was wondering where was the original star maiden since they have the same fate as the main character. But I’m glad she didn’t witness everything that happened.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOANIME CONFIRMED
Yes and no. It's true that Pina's reincarnation was an experiment, but she specifically requested to be a boy in her next life because her life as a girl had been so miserable. Since Pina's reincarnation wouldn't have her memories, Remilia could have easily ignored that wish, but she granted it.Bet that original holy maiden soul became her son is not because of goodness in her heart, but rather a test to see if she can revive Emi soul
This is not the same thing. Remilia was still conscious of the world and Emi's actions.I think it's fair to say it was at the condemnation, when she 'passed out'. Go back to chapter one and review the description of the changeover from Emi back to Remilia.
In the novel, Rina took over Pina's body right before she started school, so after she was already Star Maiden. And Pina peaced out almost immediately after Remilia's condemnation because Rina using her body to hand out sexual favors invoked the trauma of being abused by her father before her Star Maiden powers awakened. This is not the same thing. Remilia was still conscious of the world and Emi's actions.
Remilia never fled the body entirely, she was just locked out of controlling it.
In a similar way, Emi didn't leave the body like Pina did either. She just became catatonic from the shock of the condemnation.
In contrast, Pina's soul eventually left her body entirely, but probably not immediately after the possession started.
So the question is how much did she witness before she couldn't bear it and escaped to the spirit realm.
If she stayed through all the machinations of the impostor, and her way of paying for favors, then the sweet forgetfulness of reincarnation must have been a godsend.
Since she was unconscious the entire time, then it's the same as if she left at that point. If you want to know the answer to when she literally left Remilia's body, she never actually did, at least not until she entered the baby's body instead. She was with her until Remilia moved her from her own body to the baby. This is not the same thing. Remilia was still conscious of the world and Emi's actions.
