From what I understand the Light Novel changes the taxes. It's 100k HoH, 30k free citizens or 1st year slaves in the household, 10k all other slaves. This seems to be supported by the manga as Roxanne says that it's 100k for free citizens, but later Alan says it's 30k for Citizens and first year slaves. Unless someone lied to Roxanne about taxes...

Can you link me to where it mentions 30k please? Both in the LN and the manga where possible.

I dunno in the Light novel as I haven't read it just that the manga uses it and usually manga tend based off of the LN more than the web novel, usually so it is just my assumption that the LN changes it since the one who answered my question about taxes allegedly read the LN or translations of it.

However the 30k number comes from Chapter 38, page 17 of the Manga.

I'm talking about the black dots on the ID card.
We know there are 21 white dots on each profile.

On the first id card he got in the first village, we see that there are no black dots so we can imagine that after a certain time they disappear or that the mayor officially declared them dead.

On the man who will be declared a slave after the theft of the Bandana, we see three black dots so we can imagine that he was an ordinary citizen before this theft

the first time we see Michio's card he has three points so he is an ordinary citizen

The first time he kills thieves for bought Roxanne, we see that they only have 2 black points which implies that they are slaves who fled before to have master in their first year, I explain why later.

The first time we see Roxanne's card, it only has 1 black dot, which implies that she costs the owner 10,000 nars per year. This was paid by the slave trader because she was trained for over a year.

The slave trader explains to us that a citizen pays 30k nars per year and 10k per slave.

When he buys Sherry, we see that she only has 2 black points on her card, because she is still a slave in her first year and does not yet have a master, like the thieves that Michio killed in the previous images. Basically, I think he removes a point when he changes someone to slave status and tax not be paid yet.

When Michio buys Sherry, we see his card has 6 black points, 3 more because he has to pay the amount of a normal citizen for Sherry, who is in her first year, so 6 black points equals 60,000 nars in taxes to pay.
I didn't post a photo, but when he buys Roxanne, his card still has 3 points because he doesn't have to pay anything for her for a year or less. Knowing that the merchant explains that he trained him for 2 and a half years, he probably has 6 months left before paying 10,000 nars per year at the time of purchase.

The last time we see Michio's card, there are 3 white dots left, so 21 white dots minus 3, he has 18 black dots on his card, so according to my reasoning, 180k in taxes to pay. 60k Michio and sherry maybe 10k from Roxanne since the time, there are 110k left in my reasoning, so I tell myself that you must also pay a tax for the cities you visit, like 10k per city from your place of residence to ensure that only merchants transport goods between each city, or other reason, but I don't think this has anything to do with skills...

On the latest thieves' ID cards, we see 3 black dots, so they were also ordinary citizens. We'll see if the black dots disappear if they take a long time to collect the bounties, or if a knight is needed to declare them dead and the cards become completely white.

Without some confirmation from the LN I can't say for sure about the tax number and I've not been able to get my hands on a corroborating amount from anybody over the last week.

Regardless though, the whole "10k per city you visit" idea is complete lunacy to me and makes negative sense.

Firstly, 10k is a huge sum. That's the entire annual tax cost of a slave, just for visiting a city? That would be insane and probably roughly equivalent to the average earning of an adventurer over as much as a few weeks.

Secondly, you want adventurers to come to your cities and explore your dungeons in order to keep them from growing out of control. If not enough people come to your cities and explore your local dungeons they will quickly grow out of control and multiply, before monsters start to come pouring out of the dungeon in a dungeon break at which point you lose your city entirely. If you're charging people 10k for the privilege of visiting your city that's antithetical to what should be your #1 priority.

Thirdly, why 21 dots total? Where does that fit into your designs exactly?

Fourth, shouldn't Sherry have 3 dots? Why does she have 2 if it relates to tax? Her fee for this year is 30k as you pointed out on chapter 38 page 17.

I have absolutely no clue on the dots. I was merely correcting the fact that there are three taxes presented in the manga: 100k, 30k, and 10k and what I was informed they were related to: HoH, Free Citizens/1st year slave, 2+ year slave.

Honestly if the dots do have a purpose, I highly expect that at first they didn't have a meaning and some meaning has been assigned to them retroactively, but we haven't been made aware of it.

New chapter is out, but the scanlator (along with many others I'm afraid) have completely abandoned MangaDex after the takedown apocalypse that happened last month.

If you (or anybody else reading this) sees this, you'll have to read new chapters by putting in a bit of effort in future.

I know where to find this (in fact i noticed there was 1 chapter missing becase i saw it on another site) but there are others like S-Rank Boukensha wich i can only see the fill chapters here (other site where i found Isekai Meikyuu only has like 17 chapters of that other one)
