Oh girl here comes the angst
Well, she is a teenLapis is....
A little stupid, huh.
Just a small note, don't use genocide like this.So Lapis is basically aiming to pull a Darkseid on the commoners, manipulating things behind the scenes and even fostering a new beacon of hope that the commoners can rally behind, so when she finally pulls the rug under them, not only the genocide will be justified, it will also cut from the root any future thoughts of insurrection and solidify the Nobles' position.
And yet, I think that final page says more about her mental state, those bags under her eyes and resigned (maybe even wistful) look while she looks at Natori cheering, tells me her resolution is starting to falter and the ominous "I really need to end things" is because she knows that if she doesn't act fast, she will become unable to give up Natori and continue with her schemes.
In that vein, is 100% true that Allie is Lapis' perfect foil and I'm sure that she will be key to stop the genocide and save Lapis from her demise.
On a leashHey sometimes it's both!
TouchéIs that not just normal quidditch?
I really really appreciate that because, much like my disdain for Watanare, poly shouldn't be a solution to a problem the writer wrote themselves into - it should be a romantic subgenre of its own with its own reasons for existing outside of "well I like both of them!"There's always an "off ramp" for the eventual "loser" and so far (and into the raws) she's it. She's super cool though and matches Diana's personality really well. Author even had a Valentine's(?) extra image for them, though it's been a while.
The two of them seem to be slotting into the helpful friends with a crush role (ala Sayaka, from Bloom into You) which is needed because Lapis and Natori aren't going anywhere on their own with this plan and both of their self worth issues. I said someone like her would show up but not as early as this.
