I really like the dynamic of Diana and Alexandra, it's a very refreshing contrast to Diana's idealization of Natalie, these two are (quite ironically given their difference in social standing) on a much more equal footing. Fingers crossed for them to figure their stuff out (and maybe shake the foundations of the system a little while they're at it).

not quite so actually, altho yes familiar are usually non humans, Natori has been recognized as one even back on her 1st contract (the ring) in chpt 1(pretty sure magically binding her as one to Lapis) and also, when Lapis brought her to school she was to stay with the other familiars(tho that must had been just for technicalities, but on that same note gran also considers her one) but i think most importantly, Natori is seen as a commoner and so is seem as Lapis' property by other nobles. by both contracts(as a secretary and as a familiar) she's is owned by Lapis

i wouldn't go so far as to say people(Lapis, diana, gran, other commoners, etc) considers her an object, but she's def being considered as an asset

I'm so glad that someone finally called out Diana on her BS, heck, Alexandra even comes off as Nekotarou's mouth piece to sunk the idea of a poly ending.

That said, she is a much better match for Diana than Natori who would be very obviously strung along by Diana's personality.
