Oh hey, this manga still lives.

I recall reading the novel translation I could find, though I got bored of it at some point.

Spoiler: Where I kinda stopped reading which incidentally is when the novel translation ended and wasn't moving forward

After a lot of shenanigans an the MC always coming up on top, eventually he just really beats the hell out of the Sage who then snaps out of his hate boner and then converts into becoming almost fujoshi bait with how much he likes the MC, from what I barely recall.

It ended up with quite a lot of chapters dedicated to him and the MC, so much so I just ended up feeling like the story was being retold from a new starting point to try and make up this huge story of how much the MC and the sage are best of friends that I really zoned out of it, since it moved so far away from the base premise and the main story that was being told, which is the MC being such a goddamn OP super versatile character upending the system that I was wondering when this whole side story was going to end, or if the author had chosen to just change the main story to begin with. No clue if the story has moved at all... Or if it got axed or set into indefinite hiatus since I recall waiting to see more updating and seeing none. Though I haven't checked back in ages./SPOILER]

You are not that far off on your first statement. Those sponsors are pretty much in denial.

I will be honest, they have good idea in writing like how underachiever will be put on special class through exile system. In practice they never expected that underachiever become overachiever the second he started, which causes those faculty members in heavy denial with few actually happy for him.

Sometimes you just have to question how did they not expect this in the first place? They should have case of the whole class got expulsion before, which is just Special Class student. This just make me think this system as biased meritocracy.

I wonder if the kingdom heard the sponsors breakdown will make a move though…
