I get what you mean, the mystery is coming off too “heavy-handed”, like the author is putting up like 50 red flags to the readers going “look how sinister these two are being!” But I’d rather just determine their characters for myself.
I think my biggest issue is that there’s nothing to really go off of… Like we don’t actually know anything because the manga doesn’t tell us anything. We’re speculating but all the speculation comes from basically nothing in the grand scheme of things - because nothing concrete has been shown.

Someone pointed it out that it would be funny if the 2 women were just kinda weird but had no other ulterior motive. Which when you think about it is actually completely possible right now.

I feel like I've been missing something for the past 20 chapters. Both the comments and the editor notes make Touko seem sinister, but isn't she just normal? Like, with her dad she's a little clingy and cloying, but that could just be her trying to make sure he feels welcomed into her family.

With her friends, wasn't she taking the actions that a good person would take? I.e. maybe she doesn't really personally care for this girl who's obsessed with her, but she knows a good person would help her out and not want her to be ostracized.

If anyone at all is scheming, it would be the mom I think - in which case Touko's mannerisms are learned and probably not an indication that she's also being conniving.

I feel like when I read this manga, it's a social experiment by the author to see if he can convince us a character is evil using only how he frames her in panels, editors notes, and the absence of an internal monologue.

The last time she did anything sinister was with the bully.
you must be really colorblind if you cant see such deep red flags, not only is it clear that shes actually trying to have MCs baby she clearly intentionally engineered the fight between him and his sister to further isolate him from his family

Was that the real father at the end there's alot to take in with this chapter, oh boy let's hope the MC doesn't get a midlife crisis with the drama that will unfold

Man, if pulled off right, that'd be an awesome sleight-of-hand plot twist playing with the readers' smug genre-savviness to trip themselves up with tropey dramatic irony... But the payoff still need to be narratively meaningful instead of just a haha gotcha nothingburger.

there is a part when the daughter snoops on her mom and stepdad getting it on. by her own will. not something anyone would dismiss. admittedly, many other scenes can be waved away, but not that.

I'm gonna assume this guy is calling the FMC his daughter and not one of the other girls. Why does it look like bro is blushing at her perversely tho?

I think you are being way too generous, if anything.

This is the same girl who knew enough about her classmate to not only set her up but to get her ass beat by her insane mother and get the mother arrested and her seemingly put in the foster system since she has not been around since.

All because she took a picture of her and her "Papa" and spread it around the class.

All I'm saying is there has been enough to show both her and her mother are not mentally well and that everything we see and hear from them in front of people is just them playing a character they have designed.

Perhaps the Oyakodon combi are normal, Perhaps ours mind are just twisted, Perhaps because the mother can give birth to a child anymore the others Ex developed some obsessive behavior towards the girl who is just a bit climbing for father attention and lay to a deviant felling, so the mother's now overprotective, calculator and selective.

Perhaps ours vision of the 2 women was literally just their way to protect themselves.

I've always complained about this. The author keeps telling us this and that should be odd or out of place but it just seems like normal behavior. It's like they're paranoid and think nice, good, cheery and maybe popular people are all just conniving, sinister people under a mask.

Her sending the stalker to her classmate and spying on her parents having sex are the only reason I don't think this is all an elaborate rise by the author to later reveal these were just good people behaving normally.

Foster system? What are you talking about? Did you forget the crazed fan that came and “took her away” at the ending (Ch12)

Did you miss the part where she and the mom are explicitly planning to get the dad to sleep with her so she can get pregnant and give birth to the reincarnation of her dead biological dad? Or the intimations she's made to MC subtly seeding the idea of sleeping with her? Or that whole storyline where she manipulated the girl who was trying to blackmail her into going too far, secretly recording her and her mom, and then informed her former stalker of where she lived? Or the last story where she kept pushing MC's sister to the breaking point and souring MC's relationship with his sister? Maybe give it a re-read because a lot of the stuff she does and says go beyond being a little clingy and cloying.

She probably did learn this from her mom, for sure, and it's probably her mom who gave her these crazy ass ideas, but she definitely hasn't been acting totally innocent.
