Damm this is the first chapter i hated MC, I can imagine he needs to rush home to get his pregnant wife to the hospital but he stops to help an old lady carry her groceries on his way home… i hate this toxic helpfulness, it’s fine if you sacrifice something to help others, but you sacrifice others and it’s not ok, what if the wingman was actually sick, would he let the play get canceled so he waits with the old lady for the nephew? He eventually missed the play, big L from mc here, do better
I'm fully with you. He had already taken the granny to the people whose job it is to help visitors. His responsibility to her was over, while he still had a responsibility to his classmates. Blowing off his classmates to do someone else's job was not a kind thing to do.

Shout out to Mikage, truly a bro.
I was expecting the prince swap for the play but you know what this might be better

Boy just had to go see about a girl :lul:

That's some pretty sweet symbolism there with the tiara flying off :glee:

Symbolism aside, I could only think about how impossible it was for the tiara to just fall off like that.

Did she headbang so wildly when she smiled that it fell off, her hair staying put only due to being fixed in place by a kilo of hair gel?

Or did her smile create a sonic boom that only affected foreign objects positioned on top of her head? It clearly fell off before the audience's reaction, so it couldn't have been them.

Not only that, the tiara somehow had such momentum that it rotated 180 degrees on the z-axis. Would've made slightly more sense if it flipped upwards, like a baseball cap being blown up by the wind.

But that momentum either stopped or it just luckily landed in the same position as the previous page.

Needless to say, the tiara falling off didn't quite work for me because of how unrealistic it was.

This might've just dropped it down from an 8/10 to a 7/10. Depends on if more basic rules of the universe get broken in favour of symbolism in the future.

A chapter with mixed emotions. While it was pretty obvious that something was going to happen for him to be the prince (Mikage is the GOAT), I even wanted that to happen at first, but I liked how the author "turned things around" and still delivered something moving.

It's weird to read their thoughts, because it seems like they're married, just get together already damn it

and i liked how the MC was a little shaken by it, and instead of getting shaken and depressed (like most shitty romcom MCs), he went out and did something useful.

"Please could you find my grandson?"
No... f**k off, you shouldn't have taken your eyes off him, you senile old biddy! You had one job, don't push it on to me or I'll phone Child Services. You really need to be sent to the glue factory!

Look, everyone gets to voice their opinion but you're plain wrong about everything but the fact that you yourself might hate MC in this chapter.
Grow up, you immature child. How arrogant do you have to be to claim that something you don't agree with is wrong? The OP is allowed to want to MC to get back and play the role. I don't like the story either, not on a character level, but on a lazy writing level, using obvious tropes and stupid excuses to make the plot work.

What a reach. This was a high school play that he was a backstage scrub for and he made sure everything was done and ready. Not like anyone made him feel overly welcome these chapters (stress as we saw)
He clearly would be there for the birth of his child. Jesus. What a weird choice to try and make a point.

Yes, him being somewhat of a pushover and "toxic helpfulness" are actual plot points with depth and I enjoy them being worked on but he went and helped two people lost at their school festival. He himself only realized later (and gained the confidence to acknowledge) that she might want+need him there and that he wants to be her reason for a smile.
Oh, how I hate character development and growth!

Also, the girl he likes is playing princess with the hottest playboy. No matter what you say, MC not seeing 99% of the play most probably is the best for all of them. All the lines, the dance etc. they worked on, with another guy, the kids and parents seeing those two and not him. Shit surely stings when you're an adolescent, no matter the vibes.
I think he took it like a champ all things considered.

And your point about wingman actually being sick? Well, lucky you, there is his toxic helpfulness! This is where one could say "why didn't the wingman just forfeit the role?". Would've been the best of all worlds.
You're right
He could just forfeit that role from the start and that will help mc and fmc practice more efficiently.
And one more thing, if fmc wasn't going to enjoy that princess role at all, then she could just forfeit that role and take a work of backstage. And that way mc and fmc could pass their time together Merrily.
Just because other people choose that princess role for her doesn't mean she will enjoy it

So all in all, this cultural festival is a huge failure

Background scrub or not, some looked for him, he was called specifically to come for fmc, he then still lost time looking for the kid, nah man, do same shit irl and you will lose trust

What is there not to like about the play? He is friends with the hottest playboy, man tried to get him the role ffs… he could not forfeit the role because mc was not there! He rushed to get to it even as it was ending, he wanted to be there

I aint gonna touch on the rest of your text, you are entitled to your opinion, i just did not like what he did, wait and see him doing some similar shit like being late to picking up his siblings because of some stupid reason
