Logically, I know it's probably going to be a gag where he goes after her fruitlessly as she brushes him off. But I don't trust that the author enough for it not to urk me at the introduction of it.

Uchi has been a barely functional mess for more than a hundred chapters for the sake of "kimoi" jokes, and then suddenly there's a normal interaction with the opposite sex? I blame the lack of male presence in the story.

She's always been shown to be a competent and confident person when interacting with anything that doesn't have to do with Tomoko, so that's not my problem with it. My problem is the introduction of a guy whose only purpose, as far as we are aware, is to confess to a character who has been, in all but words, a lesbian.

if the manga ended right here, I wouldn't even think there's anything wrong with that, I'd only really miss it so bad, which speaks of how good it's turned out and the quality of it's entertainment value
