a true rake and a bastard. What a poor excuse for a rogue. No poisons or acids? Boasting and fighting upfront instead of falling back and aiming for backstabs? He deserves to lose.
I dont think a loss (or i guess failure to win) is really needed here. we've already seen the power scaling of this world. Mc's teachers are infinitely stronger than him. Even the demon lord that they keep as a pet is way stronger than him. We know and h knows that he's not the best or the strongest. and that there are people he can't beatSlight shonen shenanigans aside fights so far ain't too bad, things that work against his peers don't work on seasoned warriors he constantly learns and puts into practice his lessons. It would be great if he doesn't win but manages to escape with the girl. But we all know he's about to something something power of friendship.
ultra instinct!Use Haki or Matrix ??

I respectfully disagree. I think he could do with some rivals/villians. I really liked Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, all of his masters were op but they wouldn't interfere in his bouts against fighters of similar skill. But maybe im looking for something in the wrong place I mean this is a Wife Husbandry tale first and foremost so 🤷I dont think a loss (or i guess failure to win) is really needed here. we've already seen the power scaling of this world. I hardly think he's being carefree in his approach, his biggest growth area in every fight so far has been experience. He has been learning a new form of fighting in the lead up too and whilst engaging in every major fight so far. He literally begins the series with a willingness to grow and no awareness of his capacity to do so.Honestly, I'm getting tired of Cross' carefree approach to every fucking fight. Like the dude has fought many opponents that clearly didn't show him any mercy when he was fighting them, he should've already learned that every fight he takes part in is gonna be life or death, so he should stop being careless and focus all his strength on killing his opponent fast, they won't show him the same mercy he does to them.
I mean that's the story though, we're introduced to the masters as hax level, reality bending tier fighters. There's functionally no way MC won't be plot armoured in most situations. Somehow they've still allowed him to grow in a satisfying way even then.If it wasn't because of the overprotection of his three masters, he would've died around chapter 10.
But here comes the plot armor.
I hate how naive he is every damn fight. You may argue "Oh, he's just a kid, he's learning", but considering he's been on the verge of death multiple times already, I don't think you can justify his stupidity anymore. If you want to make sure you get through the dungeon with the least damage possible, you have to make sure that your actions don't come bite you in the ass later. Disabling the enemies may be seen as a good thing to do, but he doesn't disable them permanently. He knocks them out instead of killing them, and that's a huge risk when you're trying to rescue someone as fast as possible by yourself and need to get out safely with them in a disabled state. His masters should – instead of just teach him skills – also teach him that every fight is a life or death situation. Imagine if at some point the masters get attacked with a similar method Sylphy did, one that disables their powers/abilities and they're unable to aid him in any way, he's going to easily get killed.I hardly think he's being carefree in his approach, his biggest growth area in every fight so far has been experience. He has needed a different tool kit in near enough every fight he's had so far or he's needed to evolve the application of his tool kit in the midst of the fight. He's had little to no experience in near all styles of combat he's engaged in prior to the fight's taking place of being trained in preparation for them.
It's all been pretty clear as we've progressed with this guy. There's very few times in the story so far that him being more ruthless would solve his problem. Even in this dungeon he has been disabling everyone so far and removing their ability to recover and chase him, we have to see how this resolved but the state all the fodder have been left in this hasn't come back to bite him yet.
I like an edgelord story as much as the next guy but I dunno what advantage that'd bring here, his relationships have worked out to his favour all throughout the story because he is more timid but has a strong sense of justice.

It's been pretty clear this is a guy with unique situation finds the just perfect people to let him shine and also they want to bone him fantasy. The fights are really good and I like most of the characters though so I'm not complaining.
Thanks for the TL.
