For me it goes between hate and disgust, but I don't think I could dislike it as much as the author hates the protagonist and himself.
42 chapters.......this guy would work great with the Mangaka of Rent-A-Girlfriend.
I think I have given up on it at this point, I still let it take rent in my mind just to see how pathetic it can get, I don't think it will ever become good.....I mean you ever heard of a series that starts poorly goes awful and should somehow get good after 50 chapters?

Washio isn't dead you guys, he literally comes back next chapter with zero fanfare (it's treated as a gag). In fact the "joke" falls flat because they treat it seriously until basically the last page where Washio just shows up in a car whining about having to do paperwork while everyone is enroute to a beach and everyone responds as if they knew all along he wasn't actually dead...despite the establishing page of the chapter specifying that he's dead with zero hint of irony.

It's like the author wanted Washio to actually die but then mid way through writing the chapter the editor rolled up a newspaper and bopped him on the nose so he threw in Washio being alive at the very end, it is that discontinuous.
