hmm, I wonder if Kazumi tried to explain how much it scared her when she was younger, and then other people jumping to conclusions that SHE was getting physically hurt led to her distorting her memories/the narrative. (or people ignored her and shrugged off her distress when she told the truth, so she learned that if she wanted her experiences to “matter” then she had to reframe them.) With her counseling talks it’s obvious she immediately clings to any narrative that feeds into her “emotional reality”.
but there’s still the huge hole in the story of what Kazumi’s mother might have been like…

So far, I think Kazumi has a lot of trouble regulating her own emotions, and she’s desperate for outside control and a “normal” narrative to adhere to. She also catastrophizes easily. She resents her husband for forcing her to “choose” and hates parents who give their child a “choice” instead of asserting control, and she approves of Reitaro showing “control” through violence. If her issues don’t stem from her mother, it’s possible she was just…a child with really extreme emotions who felt desperate for answers and safety from her parents. She both hates them for making her feel upset through punishments, while also being angry with them for not stepping in and “fixing” her.

She wants someone to cling to who will provide the stability she craves, and she sees that in Reitaro’s calm demeanor. Meanwhile Ichika is a frightening representation of childish “uncontrolled” emotions

honestly it’s too bad that a divorce would be so hard on Ichika because Kazumi should just……not be a parent or married to anyone
goddang, a W take

"I don't think Kazumi is like that."

When the hell is this dude gonna get a grip.

BPD more like.
You know that BPD doesn't just appear without a person experiencing trauma, right?

I think what's being shown this chapter is that neither side is a fully reliable narrator and a lot of you are missing that. Sister's demeanor is so off.

The label of projection in common discourse has become such a petty and a uncharitable weapon.
Whether slander or an accurate statement, there's seemingly is no rebuttable that's able to counter such rhetoric.
All that matters is the crowd's alignment as to who's analysis reigns "true".

Though I do agree with your point on principle, it is possible to make the point you're conveying without character assassination.
The only way to call it slander is by showing proof of competence to diagnose someone, which is the one thing one would need to be diagnosing someone in the first place. And even if someone here has the necessary certifications, they are still proving their incompetence by pulling diagnoses out of their ass without proper assessment procedures.

If one feels their character is being assassinated, maybe try not having the wrong character in the first place.

You missed my point.
The slander is in saying that a person is projecting their own personal issues on the matter rather than just being a surface level psychologist/know it all etc.
We all know someone who reads a book and then acts authoritatively on the subject.

Thus the character assassination isn't in the actions you're criticising but the proposed reason behind them.

I'm not a doctor dude my diagnosis doesn't mean shit. And while I see the sister’s demeanor is off but Kazumi has already blatantly stepped way over the line so many times that it pales in comparison to how deeply unwell she clearly is.

Man's so hard in denial it's crazy, if you decide to tape a small area to essentially exile ur husband there forbidding him anywhere in the house, she CRAZY CRAZY man 😐

The thing with the teacher honestly just solidified it, i don't understand to what exactly he is hanging on that badly, that marriage died long ago, her saying they should just abandon the daughter last chapter was really just her shooting a corpse that is their marriage
Crazy how Reitero just breezed past that, to anyone else thats grounds for immediate divorce

Unlike his wife, he cares for their daughter enough to put her needs before his own, even to a pathological degree; also unlike his wife, he's mostly unwilling to stand up for himself and realise that a life without his wife will likely be much healthier for both him and his daughter.

Mr. Reitaro, if your infinite denial, almost unbreakable will, and your unwillingness to give up would be focus on anything other than your wife who seems to have a personality disorder, you would probably be able to cure cancer.
