Neon Genesis Evangelion - 1995. Literally one of the most well known anime with a gay character that isn't treated like a circus prop. But of course you're not very well learned so you wouldn't know. Anyway, NGE is just the surface, japanese culture is also just the surface.

My boy, even if we just stick with old Toonami shows then you didn't bother watching either Samurai Champloo...which had an entire episode dedicated to a gay Dutch man...or Outlaw Star, which had an overly camp gay shopkeeper. He sold guns. You know, the gayest and most phallic thing that a person can own short of a penis.

Yes and no. The context of the chapter alters the perception of the actions significantly. Last time Touri was very obviously uncomfortable and scared, this time it was nothing like it.

There is a difference in trust. In the first instance this happened, the offender was a fresh recruit that no one knew of, and Touri was clearly against it. The offender didnt even deny his intent either. This time, Touri and Rodri has been through a battle together, and at the very least, everyone on their team knows that Rodri is not the type of guy to rape (although he might shoot people for fun).

Also it might be the case that the battalion knows that tonight is the time for the rite of passage prank, and they decided to dogpile on Rodri after seeing him come back naked.

I do think that might come into play later but after just waking up they mostly just saw a naked brat and a annoyed Tori. But as you said the rest comes into play and even a casual observer can see it's a different kind of situation than the earlier one.

Because that's basically what happened to the last guy the party caught naked standing over Touri, everyone decided it was better if he was dead and he was left to die on the field. Next chapter is gonna be a huge turning point, also where the first volume of the novel stopped, currently, we only read like (20/200 novel chapters), I don't know if the manga artists are gonna draw more than this but I hope so because we barely scratched the surface of this peak

By the pace we are going the manga is going I'm going to be a senior citizen before the manga gets finished.
If I had to guess where the artists will stop it would probably be act 5 or chapter 80, it's the most gut wretching part after all.
