I do like that she's using pure brute strength here. The excuse is always that women are just so unbridgably weaker than men that nothing they ever do will be able to make up the difference. And while that is already bullshit in the real world (the difference is in all honesty pretty slight and easily overcome by being in better shape), in a world with magic it's an even better rebuttal of the supposed phyisical superiority of men.
Dude if you watch MMA and see the men and women’s division you‘ll be proven Wrong. In women‘s division, the frequency of knockouts are extremely lower than that of the men’s division. And its not that they’re not targetting for knockouts they do. Yet trained women on average are still struggling to just knock each other out.
To say that the discrepancy in strength between men and women is unsubstantial is idiotic. I would it could even lead to harm at worst.
speaking of MMA, i was extremely hyped to see in this chapter the fight would be wrestling….. and was incredibly disappointed. When i saw the “triangle lock” that wasn’t even a proper one because MC could’ve just slid out and 99.99% in triangle lock you’d lost the fight already. So i thought the author was gonna lead this chapter by exposing the MC’s opponent as a fraud wrestler. But nah that didnt happen
Another disappointing part is that the author didn’t write the mc to be able to wrestle. Because wrestling, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and judo is one of the contact sports where girls actually stand a chance in it. I was hoping the author would approach it such that the mc would actually wrestle or slip in some bjj or judo that doesnt exist in their world so spectators would be like “what the hell was that move she did?”.
