I mean, that's kinda the thing.
I feel like the reader has to expect for the MC to somehow use a clever spell of some sort, and maybe compound her strength on top of it, to destroy the target.
I expected dirt or fire to be conjured (due to the interference, it's really small and fizzes out quickly), and then just throw it really, really hard at the target. Strong enough to circumvent the problem.

The way the MC solved it, you'd expect the principle to go: "uh, no, you need to use a spell, not your body. Redo it."

He didn't do it blatantly, though. He had concealment magic to hide the interference. MC noticed anyway because she's actually an archmage vastly surpassing modern mages, but that doesn't mean anyone else would.

But she also said that magical interference couldn't stop her if she felt like using magic anyway. On top of that, it's pretty common for interference to fail to affect internal stuff.

It's a range exam, so they have a circle some distance away from the targets. She's allowed to lean over the circle, but not touch the ground beyond that. She just took it to the extreme and "leaned" (jumped) onto the targets and only then touched the ground after the targets were destroyed, as that is allowed.

We got a sniffer! I love it when Japanese authors just lean into the creepy, mentally unwell characters. I'm also a fan of creepy licking, as popularized by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The potential for awkward situations is a comedy goldmine.
