Barely even started and people rating it so badly just because it started with netorare, kinda interesting hope this updates frequently
Honestly? I get it.
I came here to say, that the story starts off with SUCH bad vibes, it's nearly impossible to look forward to more chapters.
I mean, the story starts off with the MC getting cucked so hard, he has to abandon his whole career, friends, perhaps family, and get banished -- due to no fault of his own -- to some shithole in the mountains....And then, his childhood friend comes along, who is obviously a manipulative, dominating, "my way or the highway I don't give a fuck do what I say or die" type of a person, who keeps crying his ears out how much of a victim she is, that "he left her behind", when he JUST got his whole life destroyed and fucked over.... And we're supposed to go: "haha yay wifu get yay" ???
This story has to be attractive only to people who like to see others get constantly shat on, there's no catharsis here.

That being said, what I originally came here to say, that this work gets MASSIVELY carried by the art. It's fucking 10/10 gorgeous, but the story is just shit, for the reasons I listed above.

Read the existing raws - Until chapter 5 - nothing exciting or interesting happens so far. It's just character introduction over and over.
Also if I was the guy I'd just tell everyone that I didn't die and princess is a cheating whore and fuck that spineless king.
not that any would believe him cause high ranking privilege shit

Feels like the kind of story that could potentially be great with a lot of chapters, like get the bad shit over with at thr start and start seeing growth and happiness. Right now, though, it's just 2 chapters, ao it's only the bad shit. Not gonna be received that well yet.

What is the point? Did he even know the princess? Does he have a reason to care? Is it actually a personal betrayal or her just rebelling against an arrangement she didn't agree to? This just seems like a stupid set up to have the story start on a pointlessly negative note. Likely a set up for some sort of karma porn where everyone the MC ever met gets punished for every slight they delivered?

The author had the ideea of a plot twist with the ntr and banishment, but has no ideea how to write a story around it.
So they shove what would be the most interesting part of the story up front in hopes of hooking the reader. It does not work, for I am not yet attached to anyone here

for me netorare is a small thing here, because there's no point getting hang up to a character that I didn't have much attachment or emotional investment, because she's only a plot device to start the story. I only read the plot summary but the only thing that discourage me from reading the series is the part where he can't fall in love🤦‍♂️ and if I'm going to guess he got traumatized? srsly the plot summary reeks of beta character and I hate this type of character plus living in a countryside? better move to another country than stay in the same kingdom.

The use of a ntr opening narrative is a just a lazy trope for the author to insert a generic plot element to progress the story. I hope it has better story progression going forward.
I'm glad people see that kind of shit for what it is, just shock value bullshit they add to drum up an emotional response from people and a plot device just to move their story forward. Lazy man's writing.

Well ... at this point it doesn't even feel like NTR. Seems like the princess never even liked the dude to begin with. We weren't shown a backstory of them growing up together, or them having had a loving relationship before, or even any kind of history. We just find out that he was supposed to be betrothed to her, but there is no indication of any kind of relationship history between the princess and the MC. It seems more like the king just promised the princess' hand in marriage to the MC, but it ended up with them having to retract that and have him disappear to save face socially. Also, seeing how much the princess seemed to have detested the MC, as well as the MC saying that the princess never even smiled at him genuinely, seems to further confirm that there really wasn't anything even there between the princess and MC.

for now is cool, only presenting characters, and the protagonist will end up staying with the childhood friend (something rare by the way).

I mean it's not that bad as everyone is calling it out. I wouldn't call it ntr since it was only used as an opening and a reason for the mc to have trauma and not fall for very assertive heroines (otherwise this would be over in three chapters lmao).

I kinda have a problem with the pacing, like where even did these children come from lol. And for a "slowlife" there's no much comfy moments like figuring out how to get food and stuff.

See that's the thing, in the hands of a competent writer, it wouldn't be.

(Generic scenario, not specific to this manga):

Chapter 1) Hero kills the demon king for his beloved—backstory about him and princess—gets suspicious upon his return, survives an assassination attempt, forces his way into the princess' chaimber, finds out the ugly truth, gets mad and kills the man she cheated with. The saint, being the closest to the action, discovers what happened and convinces the hero to not go any further, casts a foggy memory spell on the princess, grabs her royal seal and guides the hero out towards the next town.

Chapter 2) Saint sells the seal to an underground broker to get the financial reward the hero deserves, and having gotten to know the hero over the journey to defeat the demon king, helps him drown his sorrows in alcohol. Next morning they wake up in the same bed, the saint, worried, casts a magic and realizes she's conceived. She decides to stick with the hero and wait for a good moment to tell him. They head for the hero's hometown and on the way deal with some monsters or something.

Chapter 3) Hometown, childhood friend trope, etc. He does some tasks (sells the empty family home or gets his parents to move with him—they become minor characters), gives some tips to the local hunter. Childhood friend, having talked to the saintess previously and only thinking she's competition, offers drinks and becomes the next woman to wake up in the same bed as the Hero. No child this time (that'll be later).

Chapter 4) They set out and some memories of the hero growing up are explored. They reach the border.

Chapter 5) They meet with a family that's trying to get out of the country because some evil noble wants their daughter, but the guards have been extra slow because they suspect something it up. They convince the hero and company to sneak their daughter across, but don't make it themselves.

Etc.

Keep in mind, I'd rather not write a harem, I'm just going along with the most generic thing.

Writer: "Hey, I've got this idea for a manga: it's generic fantasy/revenge/slow-life plot #379,284. It's everything you've come to expect from every other manga, like a warm, comforting blanket of slop."

Editor: "Pass."

Writer: "But I also put 'netorare in the title to both frustrate the people who don't like it by it's very teased presence and frustrate the people who DO like it but its lack of real impact and focus."

Editor: "So basically its like lying clickbait in manga form?"

Writer: "we can also fool people into thinking it's isekai."

Editor: "SOLD! This'll get a billion reprintings, go for 20 volumes and probably get the best ass-level no-budget anime adaptation that we can afford for the money we find in the boardroom couch cushions!"

* handshake *

* Happy Days theme plays *
