Chapters got deleted again because they were reuploads from a banned group (asmodeus), they tried to get away with just removing the watermark and called it a day to reupload, but since someone reported them as seen in the previous page, they got deleted again, which is getting annoying lol

The Indo tl group didn't break any rule so they are still up

If a translation/group is banned because of an action that would draw legal action towards MangaDex, it makes sense that they would still be banned if they try to upload the same thing that got them banned.

A DMCA takedown request doesn't take into account if you're making money off a copyright violation. A good number of the series that got taken down had finished scanlations from at least a decade ago. I hate these paywall groups but they're not the reason Mangadex got mass reported, nor a major source of the series that got taken down.

Asmodeus got banned because they paywall chapters on their site and used Mangadex as an "advertisement" platform: "see the newest chapter on our site (for coins)". This is against Mangadex rules. Period.

Anyway, I think scanlation should always be free, because it's fan work for fans. If you make people pay, it ceases to be a hobby and becomes a shady job.

Well, chapters came out for free every 3 months, so that means you'll have to wait for the other chapters,
thats why i understood the paywalling, because that helps the scanlators to bring the chapters faster

Im working on them in my free time, its my first time scanlating, so im not that fast, but im doing my best

Japanese manga magazines are dirt cheap. If you limit yourself to a few series, it's pocket money. I get out a chapter a few days after it's been published.

I don't really care about that series.

The series I care about, I scanlate them if someone doesn't do them.

I pay out of my pocket for all the series I translate when the chapters are not free. I buy the magazines. I buy the volumes for the extras. Just so people can enjoy them too. I never asked a single cents to anyone.

And I'm alone. If it's a group, they'd just have to pool that bit of money and it'd be even cheaper.

There's ZERO reason to make the readers pay for something pirated, except greed.
