Never stop believing! Yuu did it!

Double chapter is very nice as well as the bonus stuff coming as I was hoping to see the aftermath too.

Well, I'm glad author did a double release instead of having us wait another two weeks.
Not the ending I wanted but I had a feeling this was going to happen.
Sadly, this manga turned out to be disappointing to me. Putting aside shipping wars, I wasn't interested in the cosplay battles and with Lilysa not being the winner they felt even more worthless. I would've enjoyed more the original concept of a three volume romcom in the manga club but I can understand that this version turned out to be much better for the author.

Thx for the TL!

damn the double chapter and what a duo! Mikari bro are feasting!! I already enjoyed this manga but this ending does really bump up my score from a 7 to 7.5! Aria gang did get a consolation prize at least with that kiss. And we're getting a side chapter, Lets fucking go!!!!!

I really hope its Mikari telling Okumura's mom and sister to fuck off! Or actually i think it'll be just the sister, but tell her to fuck off mikari, how dare she blame him for their mom's affair

Another romcom that ends with the confession, but with the addendum of having multiple fake confessions, an MC with a love problem that seemed to exist whenever convenient.

Should have stuck to just being about cosplay.
Peak? Twist? Please, this is why the current mainstream stories are a 6/10 in Manga.

Yeah, this manga felt like it wrapped up pretty much all the loose ends whereas that other one seemed to leave some important plot points unrelated to the central romance wide open before the ending.
This sums up my thoughts pretty much, the other cosplay manga was fun... for the first 20-30 chapters, then it just became meh. And the ending was ???? This one kept the suspension most of the way, the author of this did a pretty damn good job.

In reality not everything wraps up just before the ending.

Also it was kinda obvious the "other" series was very focused on the main couple and the many aspects of cosplaying, the author likely didnt want to go around wrapping everyone and simply ended the series ... authors do get fatigue and I think Dress-Up Darling got tired since you can see there was a lot of focus on how cosplay is made and there is only so much you can go about that before its retreading grounds.

I am pretty sure the series popularity was both a blessing and its doom as there was a drive to continue it as the author would likely had ended much sooner.

And also a problem is the demographics, the series run on what is a Seinen magazine however it had plently of "Shoujo" appeal leading to rather different reader demographics that expected it to follow the typical Shoujo route wrapping everything with a bow and going over the "dating" aspect until I suppose the author just stops writing out of sheer boredom and ends.

Pure happiness! Finally Mikari and Okumura openly admitted their feeling to each other and became a couple. Mikari's reaction when she realized it was mutual was priceless. Very loving and caring words were exchanged together with big oaths, and we got a sweet, sweet kiss!

I especially liked the portrayal of Okumura's trauma with the shadow of her mother lingering over him, and it was Mikari's promise of eternal love that dispelled it with pure light. "I'll erase all your unpleasant memories with my love", damn those are some strong words!

Great job author, this was an amazing ending that kept readers engaged until the end. Now I have big hopes for the epilogue 2 years later.
On top of that, the curse has been finally broken!

Sigh... I get why Mikari won but I was really hoping it would be Lilysa. They were the perfect cute, dorky cosplay couple who genuinely cared for and suited each other.
From very early the story started dropping signs that Mikari had a very special place in Okumura's heart, although subtle enough that together with his troubled mind and Lylilsa's ambiguous feelings it kept the ending uncertain until the last chapters.
Going for a Lylisa romance now would mean far too many loose ends with Mikari. And that would only make some sense by turning Okumura into a douchebag who suddenly abandons all the precious feelings for her that we saw in his inner monologues, totally out of character.
