You forgot how the family treated him? They secluded him, had him do everything by himself, and outside of a couple other people like mom’s assistant, the family took credit for everything he did. He was given near zero credit on anything the family did, and the family never recognized his work.

Of course when you’re a slave, you won’t know much else outside of what your immediate task is.
but he was expected to anticipate every whim and want and need of his seven sisters. That sort of continuous experience should make a person rather insightful and good at reading the moods and intentions of others, especially when failure to get things correct and accurate based off someone's expression or posture/demeanor could see him getting punished in some way (he was, as you yourself said, a 'slave' after all).
So how is he suddenly incapable of doing that with every girl around him now? He should be amazing and discerning what their expressions and the tones of their voices are conveying, and the subtext of at least some of it.

But he's a fucking moron to it all. It's one thing that he be ignorant of things like love and friends/social settings, but simply being able to pick up on the fact that something is going on and that he should probably get to the bottom of would be reasonable to believe, given he was a one-man crew for seven professionals in the entertainment industry across multiple professions, and he would have had to know what they needed before they themselves, more often than not, to make certain they were all successful.

But the moment the genre of harem wish-fulfillment manga requires it, he's suddenly dumb and oblivious to the actions and feelings of others.

It's just a little bit incongruent, in that light. And while I understand this isn't meant to be a compelling piece of writing and that it's yet more simple wish-fulfillment "bashful MC pulls all the S-tier chicks" style storytelling, some internal consistency would be nice when it revolves around things that are effectively character-plotholes.

Tough annoucement to make, but due to a significant lack of time (and frankly, motivation too), I decided to drop the translation of this series.

As a solo translator, my time is extremely limited, and I'd rather step back than hold up releases I can no longer commit to. I believe it's better to let people with more time and resources work on this one, allowing me to focus my efforts on the other series I'm currently translating.

Thank you all for your understanding and for your support over the past few months, I truly appreciated it.

Thank you for your hard work.

I don't care about best girl wars anymore. They can be goofballs however they like. 😂

I just want to see the downfall of his sisters and family.

TY for TL dude, no worries.
Ngl, I read this for revenge on those who left him behind not so much boyos own adventures. Given the lack of movement there, I am not too bothered.

With that the 4th girl will easily fall for his charms. She's very likeable so people will root for her.
@chiquit0_3107 Sad to see you drop this but thank you for allowing people to learn about this story's existence. If it means anything, it got picked up by Manga Up recently (I know some will scream in pain due to how they distribute manga on their site & god forbid censor them unnecessarily) so there will be translated chapters on certain sites. Hope the stress will lessen your load moving forward. Appreciate the translations like always.
I didn't even notice that an official English version had just been released (well, it's only been a week), which makes me feel a little less "guilty" about giving up on this series. They've almost published the TL for the first two volumes (up to chapter 16 from what I've seen), so they certainly won't fall behind the raws.

Anyway, if I had to give my opinion on the series after spending so much time on it, I would say that it's a bit of wasted potential, even if a manga adaptation of a light novel is inevitably limited by the original story. First chapter completely hooked me with its plot, but since then it's been a series of empty chapters with somewhat poor writing (the LN wasn't necessarily better, but seeing it in manga format really makes it more obvious). Of course, the revenge chapters are the ones that are interesting and that made many people stick with this series, I imagine, but they are dealt with a little too quickly. On the contrary, if the author focused only on that, the story would be over with the mother's defeat in 15 or 20 chapters. I think this series just lacks a decent side story, which for now looks like nothing more than a series of classic harem romcom situations, with very naive characters.

Btw, once again, thank you all for your messages! (I try to read them all)

So little has happened with the main plot that I thought we were still in the single digits chapter-wise. I understand your lack of motivation t o TL the series based on that alone. Thanks for TLing this series up to this point and I wish you well in your other works.

Edit: I just found out that the official English TL has been recently confirmed and is available on MangaUp if you're curious (they've almost caught up with my own translation).
Thank you for the translation!

Tbh, the introduction of the new girl seems really forced even though I like her looks and personality. Would've been good if she was an acquaintance of MC from his previous work with his family.

It also doesn't help that the MC's stated desire is simply to live the "childhood life" he never got, and wants to just go to school, get a part-time job, and experience youth after being worked to the bone by an uncaring and unloving family.

But instead he's surrounded by girls who want to jump his bones because he was nice to them and has literal shoujo manga superpowers (but of course he's unaware of this because Abusive Upbringing Backstory), but they're all after him for selfish reasons and to appease themselves and their desires without taking his happiness into account.

So we have the Family Downfall, that the MC's not involved in whatsoever; we have the MC wanting to live a normal childhood life; and we have the harem heroines who lust after him but get angry at him and one another when he doesn't understand what they're doing, while they also aren't direct about it.

And we're getting probably more than these 4, since I still suspect we'll get as many harem candidates as there were original sisters to "replace" his old family (with a mom-figure, who might be Asuka's mom, at least at this point) - and the more girls are introduced, the more time is taken away from that Revenge / Downfall plot, and the more convoluted the "MC lives his youth" plot becomes because it keeps getting hijacked by constant interactions with the growing harem.

It's just too much going on in a single title, and all while it's a (as far as I can tell) monthly series of ~30 pages that can only spend so much time on a given axis of the premise. Especially when it seems there's no intention to resolve the MC's ignorance of his skill, which forces him back into the entertainment industry repeatedly (since all the heroines are also connected to that), and it's the very industry that he wants nothing to do with.

Just very disjointed storytelling that wants to do way too much, I think, with the multiple plots either not connecting, or actively working against one another.

All that to say, I understand prioritizing your time and support the decision to focus your energies wherever you feel is best.

But knowing about the industry is part of the task. The story describes him as someone who does everything in the family, which doesn't look like it in this chapter. Knowing about the people is one of the basic.

The one thing is that this woman is in a part of the industry his family was not. It seems like there is upcoming overlap that they will face but previously there was none. I assume that he learns about everyone they would work with so with the limited time from how much they forced on him he only knows about the industries they are explicitly in. I think of it like a musician. Even if you like music there are plenty of musicians that may be huge that you have never heard of because they are different than what you are exposed to.

Yeah, I think I've had enough of this now.

Aside from being given the excuse to drop it because the TL is too (thank you very much for your hard work btw :hearts:), I haven't met a single character I like yet. Except, funnily enough, Takarazuka. But I'm not holding out much hope for her, the more I get to know these characters the less I like them, and so I suspect that'll happen to her too.

Farewell distinguished gents, until next time.

I guess thanking a translator is abhorrent enough to get moderators involved now lmao
