It would be a flex to save the children personally afterwards.
I gotta say though, the plot moved a bit too fast for my taste. There was no evidence of a betrayal if the plan was just to lend the grail out, so Lucian immediately jumping to her side doesn't feel right.
They needed the demon king to out himself due to her interference before disappearing. And ideally, delay a night with him being imprisoned before showing the grail was fine so the conspirators couldn't talk their way out of it.
My thing is the details used to accelerate the plot make Lucian look like an even bigger idiot?
"If the demon king was planning on returning your grail he would've sworn an oath!" -> Lucian didn't make him swear an oath
"The spirits are surrounding Lucian because they love truth" -> the spirits would've avoided the demon king when he was lying and Lucian didn't notice.
Actually the biggest problem is that the other elves are portrayed as big meanies for doing a much milder version of MC's entire deal.
MC: took over another country, leading to the execution of rulers who did extremely stupid stuff that jeopardized the country because they were under mind control.
The Elves in this chapter: tried to take over their own country by peacefully ousting a ruler who did something extremely stupid that jeopardized the country of his own free will.
Very, "Rules for thee, but not for me (or my oshi.)"
