She assumed that Miyuki wasn't, you know, a scumbag. A person she's known for about 10 years wouldn't be cheating on her best friend since preschool so blatantly and openly.
I think 10 years of being acquainted would give them some leeway and trust.
It's not like she was going to be 'Why did you break up with my son?', or ask her son 'Why did you break up with Miyuki?'.
It is literally stated in the chapter, meaning that your media literacy is really poor.

Trust explains why she didn’t immediately assume Miyuki was a cheating scumbag, it doesn’t explain why she refused to verify anything. Seeing your son’s girlfriend openly holding hands with another guy and going “welp, they must’ve broken up” without asking a single neutral question it’s just sticking your head in the sand.
And let’s not pretend the only possible questions were some dramatic courtroom interrogation. “Are you two still together?” exists. It’s free. It doesn’t accuse anyone of anything.
Yes, it’s stated in the chapter. Congratulations, we can read. Explaining her thought process doesn’t magically turn dumb assumptions into good judgment. Media literacy isn’t just repeating what the text says, it’s recognizing when the text shows a character making a mistake.

Sure... i think it was Ai who noticed that Kondo had someone else behind him. Can't really remember how, someone else can add to this since a bunch of here read the WN. Anyway she is exposed thanks to Hayashi, a girl from the same club that was Eiji's friend, and the only one that truly apologized for believing the rumors (he forgives her, since she did nothing wrong, and she pretty much becomes Ai's best friend). Tachibana even tried attacking Hayashi but Eiji's best friend Satoshi saved her. She is arrested alongside Kondo, and is awaiting trial. She is still not accepting her demise but deep down she knows her future is ruined. Even her lawyer is belittling her, as he knows he has no chance in saving her lol

She has a breakdown after she found out what Miyuki did, and then ended up in the hospital after i think she overworked herself. There she destroys Miyuki with words, "your not my daughter anymore" stuff like that, and even slaps her for the first time in her life. A big part in this is the fact that her Mom is a single parent, her Husband, Miyuki's Dad did the same thing she did, left her for someone else.
Now the sad part is that Mom will also lose everything, Eiji's Mom told her she is going to sue them after finding out about the bullying.
She is okay with that, even accepting that she will sell their house if needed to pay them, since this is a punishment her daughter deserved.

As of the latest chapter she is still in the hospital. We haven't heard about her in some time now...

Don't forget, this is Japan. Way more harsher laws when it comes to bullying and almost driving someone to suicide. I also thought it was a bit over the top while reading the WN but then decided to look it up a bit... I was genuinely surprised to learn how this stuff is seen in their country.

My bad, i was sure it's pretty much soon after this Mom part... It's been a while since i read that part.
You are the goat my friend, I started this and dropped then picked it up. Was going through SO MANY comments trying to find the spoilers on the mom. Thanks so much for writing this all out.

When is the next chapter gonna release?
It does seem overdue, as they were previously on a once-a-month schedule.

I did a quick googling and found that it was expected to be released in Japan on 1/30/26, so I would think that we should see it pretty soon.

Latest from the WN: Kondo learns his fate that he is about to be sent to juvenile hall. He is still delusional, thinking that he should be released because he is a king and had a right to pick on and destroy others. His appointed lawyer has finally had enough of his blatant attitude trying to act big and gives him a reality check! the lawyer tells him the cold, hard truth that Kondo’s attitude is the reason why he’s still in custody. His failure to admit to his guilt and show remorse for his actions while acting like a psychopath have made his future as a soccer player into a distant dream and that he is not really as tough as he thinks he is… but he will soon learn the truth about that when he meets the people that are already there in juvenile hall! The lawyer further explained that so far Kondo has had the luxury of picking on nice people on the outside, but when he ends up with the REAL baddies in the juvenile reform school, that’s all going to change! The lawyer tells Kondo that now HE is the one that will immediately be targeted and picked on! The chapter ends with the lawyer telling him some things that might help Kondo survive, while Kondo is realizing that hell has only begun for him…

🗿🗣️No. :chad::clap: :fml:

So we all know who's going to slide the sewer next, right? For that matter, I can't even remember or understand why she cheated in the first place. Was it literally just a massive :coffee: and nothing else? Seems like she's acting disproportionately upset for someone she's supposedly willingly done and initiated. (But then again, a logical :coffee: is a definitional oxymoron:thonk:). For that matter, I need to revisit the other girl as well, because I seem to recall whatever reason she had it wasn't nearly as bad as the MC's.

Also, did bro color the page and redraw it just for us? We're honored by your presence. :glee:

What's gonna happen to Miyuki's mom?

She goes to the hospital due to the shock because her husband cheated on her too, Miyuki saw how it affected her and Eiji's family helped her through it so the fact that her daughter did the same thing to the child of the people who helped her was too much.

After reading the spoilers in some chapters - Part of me wishes for there to be an alternate ending spin-off. A bit more gruesome one. Cause things in this will be kinda tame, mostly law abiding IIRC, aka court/jury/jail/etc, nobody is murdered/etc. And part of me wishes that some "darker" stuff would happen, like cheating bitch realising/finding out that she was manipulated, that Kondo never even loved her one bit - just used her for sex cause he likes destroying others - and while the proper realisation hits her that she fucked up her love/relationship, just cause MC was to nice guy'y and didn't undress her violently with his eyes, that she gave away every single first to the asshat dude - she breaks down, gone murder hobo, and knives the asshole and maybe the mastermind behind him. Typical dark "ending" of the cheating stories videos on YT.
