edit: amazing, I sent this message earlier when mangadex went down, and didn't think it was sent... don't know how to delete so oh well.

pretty interesting that the dad seemed to purposely not wear his glasses cause ghosts appear perfectly clear even when everything else is blurry, its too bad Miko doesn't really have a way to tell ghosts from real people outside of appearance.

Thanks for the much improved translation! Was actually able to pick up on some subtle plot points when you're not distracted by a translation by a Spanish(?)-speaker who's trying to translate from a 2nd language they're not fluent in to a 3rd language they're not fluent in, while completely ignoring ghost speech that's relevant to the plot (probably thought it was just an SFX).

On to the cooler plot stuff:
  1. Seems like the grandma/old man multi-generational haunting monster tried to possess Touko when she slept, which is why Francois barked at her, the way he barked at grandma on the side of the road. It's also sophisticated enough to target those who might try to exorcise it (could be why Mamoru died, since he may have tried to exorcise it without knowing how, and even Romm, who's experienced, almost got got.)
  2. Mamoru has the "best", clearest vision, since his view of Francois is true to life (since Francois is a protector), and his view of grandma is a monstrous presence (since it's harmful). Miko sees everything as monstrous since she sees through the lens of not being able to differentiate between the protectors and the harmful ones and can't see past the disguises of the real bad ones (ie - kid with balloon and old man groundskeeper).
  3. There's a fair chance (especially after re-reading ch.65 and 66 after this translation) that Touko can also see the spirits to some extent (not all of them, but definitely on the spectrum of being able to sense/hear them), and she's also hiding that fact (exactly like how both Miko and her dad are doing). Also, how she ignores the bully classmates mirrors how she and Miko ignore the ghosts. She may have also been trying to feel out if Mamoru could also see them (when she talks about Francois), seeing as she's now revealed to be the more assertive one. She also knew enough to walk into that deadend, but not enough to know just how dangerous that was, along with her subsequent reactions - just one amongst a lot of other subtle hints/double-entendres across her scenes. So we have a manga where instead of the characters are hiding their lovey-dovey feelings from each other, they're hiding their ghost-sensing abilities from one another.
  4. Mamoru produced(?)/gave Touko a long-lasting amulet that empowered Francois, and it, with Francois has been protecting them and the house to this day. (I'm guessing Seto's proposal with Mamoru is that he offered to destroy granma/oldman/stalker monster and take over the role of protector from Mamoru and Francois so they'll voluntarily pass on.)
  5. Re-reading the previous recent chapters, I guess if this hasn't already been said, it's looking like Cafe Gusto is like the Continental hotel from John Wick - neutral ground that welcomes all, where fighting is strictly banned.

now THIS is a good chapter. Better than some of the past filler waste of time ones.
Which ones have been a "waste of time", I don't recall a single "filler" that didn't contribute to the world building, and give hints to what's happening in the main plot, while also being a self-contained side story.

I'm not sure this is actually the case, The form it takes now may be the result of how long it's been a ghost. not her vision being worse.

The best comparison I can think of is that horror movie, The Ring, where anyone who watches the cursed VHC are bound to die in exactly 1 week unless they manage to break the curse somehow.
From what I have gathered, the ghost attaches to anyone that sees its picture, but so far that's where the comparisons ends as far as the manga has come with information surrounding him. Rom and the others treat the ghost as something dangerous, but so far all he has done is persistently follow whoever it attached itself to, it hasn't attacked or done anything malicious.
Did you forget how it likely almost killed Miko? it made it look like Hana was outside and when Miko went towards what she thought was Hana its when she was saved by Michiru and Pii when she would have been hit by a falling flower pot.

So it likely is a death god that causes death via accidents as it was nearby when Miko almost got hit by the truck as well.

Finally a translation I'm happy to read and comment on

So, Miko got this ability from dad. And looks like this thing (I'd like to call it Death or smth) finally got to him recently. Oh, And we have a backstory of François, cool!

Damn, Miko's mom is amazing. I love this type

Thank you creeg, and thank you to K9mutt too.

P.S. actually p.40 is very interesting. Looks like he sees those things clearly despite his bad eyesight. That's a convenient way to distinguish our things from those

This is my translation for chapter 69.

Thank you for reading.

EDIT: I got permission from the previous team to continue their work on this series, thank you @K9mutt

Thank you so much for the GOOD translation! The last chapter was an absolute disaster and one of the worst MTL jobs I've ever seen. Excited for you to take over.

Maybe I am not in on some inside joke, but what with the tone of the message?.. Did you maybe ask previous translator? Like maybe you have permission?.. Otherwise your "I’ll be picking up this series from now on, thank you" sounds totally like "I am sniping and I am proud of it", you know, wouldn't take more than couple second to add that you got permission, if you actually did...
To be honest, I wouldn't care even if that were the case. People who upload very low quality work deserve to be "sniped" by those who actually put effort in.

Either way, yeah the guy did get permission as you saw.

Also man, what a surprise. I actually thought Francois look like it's combi of that granny+dog. Then you tell me it's actually Miko's stalker?!?!?! Her dad passed his sight. Her mom passed her stalker.

Which is strange because souls don't combine, but rather they eat and change. So most likely the two ate each other and the result was Francois overcoming a new body.

Francois has changed over time, but not because of the granny/man. It's been said before in the series and it says it again right on the last page: different eyes see different things. Miko's dad saw the spirit as a granny; Miko sees it as a dude with a sickle. It's the same spirit, the only difference is who's looking at it.
