The way it plays out is certainly an exception to most romance series where there is a lengthy internal dialogue of at least one party crushing on the other and you get teases and frustrations along the way, eventually providing a satisfying payoff to a lengthy and dramatic build-up. I think with this series, where the romance angle was not a central focus for more than half the story, it is just not that all that satisfying. Compare the pretty lacklustre

to the rushing into open arms and relief you will usually see in a RomCom and it's tough to give it more than a 6/10 on the romance scale. I'm hopeful guitar-girl will have a more typical payoff to her romance, where a teary breakdown and confession is met with reciprocated romance.
