Yeah, the police wouldn't have helped. Given how the father was portrayed, he could have killed and eaten the entire JSDF. He was the quintessential Japanese "hero".

I'm just honestly glad that the author didn't pull a Million Dollar Baby. It would have been in character for the father.

Genuinely disappointed by this oneshot. Usually Kuramori Tooru's oneshots are deeper and more unpredictable. While it was nice to see him step away from his typical blueprint of a human interacting with a mysterious sapient creature, the narrative was pretty flat. Guess he just wanted to draw a bunch of characters duking it out.
