I'm not sure how much of a problem that is. The first polyandry culture that I have read about actually has a girl marrying brothers. The logic is that, no matter who the father is, the child will be blood related to the husbands. Switching the sexes around technically isn't a problem. Legally is a different matter.
Marrying both at the same time might solve the problem. There is no first wife so neither of them will be the sister-in-law. First wife tends to have a lot of power in legal polygamy.
