This makes it very very unlikely the author would go through with a harem end because that would entail the MC marrying his sister-in-law after marrying the other which I'd imagine is unlawful in Japan and basically every region in the world. And some countries even state that it is incest though not in a biological sense. So considering there are so few incest mangas with an incest end, obviously the MC will only end up with one of the sisters; the other becoming a losing heroine. QED

I'm not sure how much of a problem that is. The first polyandry culture that I have read about actually has a girl marrying brothers. The logic is that, no matter who the father is, the child will be blood related to the husbands. Switching the sexes around technically isn't a problem. Legally is a different matter.

Marrying both at the same time might solve the problem. There is no first wife so neither of them will be the sister-in-law. First wife tends to have a lot of power in legal polygamy.
