Weebdex is dead

The site wasn't very big, and I don't think a lot of people used it. But, I find it relevant as I believe some groups that left Mangadex went there. And, then, kind of like Comick, it shut down. Though for different reasons.

Seems like a lot of websites have been dying recently. It's kinda sad.

It was a better alternative to WaterCloset... But I stopped using it because there was no community there. 40% of the fun of MangaDex (and WaterCloset ig) is the community after all

IMO it's the somewhat unavoidable outcome of the clearnet. When most things are accessible, and indeed accessible to law enforcement from various governments and corporate interests, then anything the corporations (which usually includes governments now days) don't like will eventually cease to exist on the clearnet.

I haven't felt the need to switch to it myself, but I think I2P will play a large roll in 'saving' the internet. It seems to me, from my shallow understanding, that it is fundamentally free from corporate/government influence.

No I think it was around before that. Late last year sometime, I think is when it went live.

The domain name was first registered last October. I suspect it was nominally a reaction to the DMCA here last May.
