KC translations remaining the goat, "poppycock" alone confirms this.

Pretty fire ending to the chapter, I really do wonder when Harold will get some clarity on his relationships. I think he has to see the people around him interact with the Protagonist to finally actually have the nature of his relationships sink in.

Thanks for the TL.

I feel like it's extremely unclear how he views the game plot anymore, either if he has given up on major parts of it or if he's still planning to trust on it. He was forced to serve Justus despite doing everything differently from the original Harold in his youth, so one might think he views the game plot like a fate. Does that mean he doesn't much care about what he does; the various characters will still end of fulfilling their parts? He indeed has already changed pretty much all of the hero party members' past/early fates. It would be nice to get a chapter where he ponders all of this. It's like all we get out of him, regarding that, is that he believes they are all too weak. Well, Erica aside, since he's mainly concerned about trying to push her away, so he hasn't got much time to wonder how powerful she is.

Someone spoil me, is this doc the main villain? MC is practically held hostaged by him but I forgot why, why doesn't he just kill the doc etc lol :nyoron:
various doomsday devices. Killing him now won't actually stop it. Emphasis on the S. As there are multiple reasons/ways for hell to break loose.

Especially the ones he doesn't know about and just heard it in game. He can't do it all on his own, which is why he has multiple pawns.

The Merc group. Hero party. Surviving knights. Ect. It's not just killing the boss. Its also damage controll.

He only saw the game from 1 perspective. And just because they went 1 route doesn't mean that the other routes won't happen simultaneously. Thats 1 reason. Another is the flavor text only information.

Discovering what and where those events are happening is also something he does. The main quest he already handed it to the Merc group Frieren. They set things up for the hero party. So that they move on the road he paved.

The doc is the main villain. The doc is more powerful than Harold and is well ingrained as an upstanding figure of society, while Harold is seen as a villain.

I have no idea whatsoever where the story is headed. I don't even know the objectives of any of the characters introduced so far. What's the MC, the doc, the fiance, the big bro, the supposed MC/hero are upto? It's so ambiguous and weirdly interesting.
Harold: Prevent the world ending calamity, prevent mass casualties and his own death.
Erica (fiance): support Harold from the shadows without knowing what his true goals are.
Justus (Doc):
If I recall correctly, immortality, resurrecting his lover, and bringing forth the god that would cause the world's destruction would enable those two goals.
Big bro: set Erica up with Harold.
MC/hero:
Figure out who attacked his parents and stole the family heirloom sword. Generic adventurer shenanigans.

You're not supposed to know the doctor's goals yet; however, Harold has drastically changed the backstories for most of the hero's party. Their statuses are now so different from the game version that they no longer harbor the same objectives.

Mild spoilers, but this will come up in the very next arc, which explores how this led to one of them losing their main drive.

The author won. I shall go further into weebism and read the light novel. I can no longer stand waiting a month for the next chapter.

What chapter of the light novel is this?
You're going to have to wait months, if not years, between chapters if you follow the latest WN version of the story. And I'm not being hyperbolic.

He hasn't even met Liner for ages. When they had their match during the contest, Harold was disappointed by Liner's level of power. Logic dictates that would be due to Harold's own actions, since Colette's mother isn't murdered, so Liner wouldn't have such pressing motivation to get stronger. Pretty haphazard to hand anything over to them, just like that. I suppose he believes in the Sumeragi far more, supplying them with intel. Considering Cody played a major part in Harold's downfall, he would be a fool to have much faith in that fool and his mercenaries. Things in life often don't go as smoothly as they do in scripted games. A comedy sidekick could play a crucial role in a game, but such a clown would just die in reality, possibly taking allies down with him.
