The manga is actually more superior than the novel. The mangaka for this series really did a great job at improving the story. If the mangaka just blindly follow the story 100% straight up the same as the novel, the manga won't be as popular as right now.

No. The novel is nothing remotely special. This story is hard carried by the mangakas art and choreography

...no, i mean, yeah the manga is great, and looking at "the text" of the series I can easily believe the LN/WN is inferior in each and every aspect.

My point is more that if the manga adaptation was done, it likely wasn't because someone WANTED to adapt it, but because whoever was in charge of publishing the source material decided to push for a manga adaptation to promote the novels.

The fact somehow they got people who actually cared to make something good out of it (similar to Reborn as an Aristocratic Scoundrel[etc]), instead of your cookie-cutter, meh-as-shit adaptation that gets pumped out on the regular and eventually gets canned partway through, is completely separate from its conception as a promotional avenue for the franchise/source material or w/e. Which, again, can be argued to be the same as the anime.

So you can't really give the anime a break because "it is just a paid ad".

A lot of people only care about reading as fast as possible, they don't care about quality as long as they can read it, or rather as long as they can get the illusion of reading since most mtl is utter garbage, either nonsensical or basically a rewrite

Unfortunately e-hentai is being filled with low effort mtl because a bunch of pathetic losers dumping mtl daily and even more pathetic losers praising them, worse yet is that mods clearly don't give a fuck

No idea about nhentai but since a lot of sites get same uploads I imagine a lot of the mtl is spilling there

thats hella concerning if people start forgetting stuff 20 days later cause thats already dipping into dementia territory. Also ironically you see more doujins focusing on the story this days which actually requires reading comprehension and literary know hows.

The LN is just as vanilla as it gets. Manga really explored and expanded the arc wherever it is appropriate.
It's fine if you wanna see the big picture of the story, but you do get a lot more of meat from the manga than the LN.

The thing is they aren't just random people, they're supposed to be among the strongest people in the kingdom. It should be expected that the guards of the prince are actual elites, potentially as strong if not stronger than any other knights in the kingdom. If the royal family had personal guards that are weaker than other knights in service to the kingdom, it would suggest either they aren't aware of the strength difference, or they are concerned about a lack of loyalty from those knights.

In my opinion, its perfectly reasonable that the royal knight is a bit lag behind in term of brute strength, as their main job is different:

Royal knight:

• main duties is to protect VVIP
• they need to learn variety skills to be accepted not just pure fighting ability, like etiquette (dancing, speak politely, noble conduct), as they deal with royalty, high noble, etc or politic.
• for them prevention is better, day to day peace is what they sought for their master, in this case intelligence network is more valuable than brute strength.
• their main enemies are assasins and poison, not just pure fighter.
• they rarely dispatched outside the capital/go to war/hunting bandits, so they see less action.

Normal knight:

• Their main job is to keep peace within the kingdom.
• Frontline fighter, the one who first to be dispatched for war/eradicate bandits, sometimes relief duties after disaster too, etc. In short more physical job, so more strength for the individual, the better.
• They see more action and have more experience in a fight. For individual battle to fighting in war.
• Have more variety of enemies: from another country/faction knights, bandits, to monster/wild animals.
