The previous generations must have done herculean feats of carrying the kingdom until these idiots came into power. It's really like that. Even the great Roman empire suffered at the hands of inbred fucks vying for power. The late Roman empire was very strong militarily, their men were one of the best, but the politicians waging war were absolute morons who executed their best commanders because they're insecure that that good commander would become their enemy in politics. It's a tale as old as fuck. And fuck is old, let me tell you.
Hell, they couldn't even kill the likes of Julius Caesar Properly! Sixty politicians charging at him with daggers, and only SIX actually stabbed Caesar, with the others either missing, or stabbing each other!

"There's no way she had that kind of influence."

And this is where Allen was completely mistaken. She already had the Crown Prince and his noble friends under her.

Duke of Ramslett: "My walls are strong, my men are in good heart, bring on your slings and arrows!"

The King: "Uwaaaaaaaah!! I'm mad! I'll smash you into pieces, into little bitty pieces!!"

I almost left a comment saying that this is way too unrealistic since the enemies just made a boneheaded move and no real leader would act on a whim without thinking of the long term consequences, but I think historians would tell me otherwise. We probably don't even need to go back that far in history wink.

Right
Like that idea of using a nuke...

Wait... Allen hasn't figured out the "saintess's" power yet? I thought he knew that already. Well, he's in for a rude awakening😓

They either have to conquer the kingdom and make it a territory of their new kingdom, or just overthrow the current king and rename the Kingdom, because simply defending themselves and declaring independence is too merciful for the royal family for what they did. Besides, it seems both the king and the crown prince are imcompent af, so if the King changes, aristocrats would benefit.

Influence? Nah, Allen. Amy has straight up mind control at this point.

No spoilers please but I hope they take over the whole kingdom and a good chunk of the empire for what they did to Ana too rather than just declaring independence.
How did this Kingdom even survive this long?
Kingdoms have survived even more incompetent rulers, often not the same dynasty but the kingdom itself survives.
King was a figurehead while the appointed people did the actual work. Same for companies now with useless CEOs or useless bosses as department heads that just keep on going.

Thanks for the tl
I think you underestimate the power of inertia. It took Intel years to finally lose enough business from putting out terrible products to finally make a change but too many people were just in the habit of buying intel automatically without even thinking of checking out AMD that they could just coast for close to a decade.
In universe nobody knows what kind of power she has yet. That includes Amy herself (she assumes that the staff gave her the same power it has given to her game counterpart).
Anyway this chapter demonstrates that her brainwashing has limits since the Prime minister was unaffected.
Like the jedi mind tricks only working on those with weak minds. The prime minister was unaffected because he isn't a retard.
Read the previous chapter.

The king was agreeing with the prime minister until Amy brainwashed him.
I mean he also was stupid and made an enemy of house Ramslett all by himself

Because he believed Ramslett was weakened from repelling the invasion force attacking the south.

If the enemy numbers were true, the Ramslett's forces would be almost completely exhausted.

If the enemy were fewer, that means Ramslett would still have to be on guard for another attack while guarding against the king.

I think Saeba's version did a better job conveying that.

The king just had no way of knowing that the MC carpet bombed the entire area and Ramslett's forces suffered little to no losses.
