the question from there, I think, becomes what angle this new dude has in approaching Moe directly like this.
Initially the PI & team were looking into Akemi, and then the Father went and pulled the plug on the services being provided.

So is this some hired contractor working for the PI directly still against the Father's wishes, or has he gone rogue, having looked into the case for his boss, saw Moe, and--like the sensei--decided to go after her for his own purposes/desires?

The answer to that will inform how much danger Moe is in. Because if he hides any involvement with her family in the capacity he ostensibly was before, then he's just some creepy dude hitting on her out of the blue; and without any larger context Moe might not take him seriously at first.
Which, could be a problem for her.

No one is going to mention that the new guy looks so similar to Moe he might be her actual biological older brother? The scene in page 23 where they look straight into each other's faces is obviously intentional, they even have the same style of bangs.

Edit: even on pages 3-4 I thought that was Moe peeping through the door, which I found strange since when we actually got to see Moe later in the chapter, she makes no reference to having seen and heard the conversation between dad and the detective. Turns out it was the new guy! He is definitely a biological relative.
