Seems like Moe is letting that dude's words cloud her mind more than she should.
Curious as to why she thinks a smaller place means that Gotou sees her as "less special"; it feels like a step toward materialism that I wouldn't have initially pegged her as caring about.

But maybe that's also a result of the alleged half-brother's words.

Real shame Akemi showed up out at such an inopportune time, though. Can't wait to find out what she has planned. Because it would be wild if it turns out that fetus is actually Gotou's. Though the last time I went back reading through the series, I don't recall seeing any point where Gotou and Akemi would have slept together that it'd even make sense.
Unless she tries to take Gotou being blackout drunk back in chapter 1 as the "time" when they had sex (which he'd conveniently not remember, and thus would have trouble refuting). Plus, she knows people at that hospital who'd probably fake a paternity test for her if she asked. So Gotou wouldn't even be able to trust results, unless he found a different clinic, which isn't cheap--and he's tight on finances as it is. Plus...I kinda suspect that underneath it all, Gotou would probably jump at the chance to simply "reset" and put the family back together. Just pragmatically speaking, Akemi's family's wealth would be incentive to do so. It would calm Ken down, and it would provide that general guise of stability that he craves for himself and Moe, as well.

Of course.........that would cause major problems for Moe. And I could see it actually pushing her away, making her turn to her half-brother[citation needed] and run away from hom. And that would open up the narrative, creating additional points of stress and tension as Gotou watches his family start to collapse from a different angle--and, it would be over his darling "pure" youngest daughter. I bet Ken would be ambivalent at best, and openly relieved at worst, and Akemi is just nuts and I doubt would just stop her behavior now.

Really, I feel like things are only ramping up. If Gotou caves and tries to keep this family together, shit's gonna go sideways in a big way, though probably in a delayed sense--like undercurrents slowly building up silt and sludge on the riverbed, hiding sharp stones and deep crevasses right in plain sight.

Can't wait to see what horrors await in the dark.

I'm not reading all that, but is true is clouding her mind, though it was clouded already. I think everything mostly will be resolved with a parental test

The child genuinely being his would be and interesting twist for two reasons:

  1. The obvious dynamic of the marital relationship (given the wife's insane amount of infidelity), has a lot of potential for exploration there.
  2. The father/daughter confirming they aren‘t blood-related (the new baby will almost certainly will be a girl), that is blood retailed to the dad and Moe feeling like she is no longer special as hinted at in this chapter. There is a lot of room for exploration there too + it opens up ground for her to start looking elsewhere for the validation she might seek in response (ie the new brother, who seems to idolise what she is in the same way she idolises the father).
If the endgame ends up being GSA with her new brother instead of the dad though, that would be a fucking hilarious turn of events.

lol either she'll end up asking him for help and betraying him or not trusting him/killing him either way

(although while the other son/brother seems relatively normal in comparison i half expect all the family members to be unhinged bc of the moms dna)

Don't forget that Moe inherited her manipulative side from her mother, this chapter is just the begining of wild ride that last 30 chapter

talk about being salty and immature lol
That you can't be bothered to make an attempt at discourse on the chapter?

Sure, it irks me. It'd be awesome to be able to discuss what happens in manga around here, and it's frustrating that people instead choose pithy drive-by takes and then hide behind "oh you mad?" if someone pushes back on their flippant surface-level excuse for engagement.

The father should take both of his kids out of town and as far away as possible from this mother, and tried to reconcile both of them while tell the daughter that he love her, then tried to rehabilitate her with the brother.but the ending already written:The mother should have suffer instead of getting happy ending

I'm overlooking something, forgot something or the translation/writing just isn't clicking.

Daughter sees paper about apartment: "what is this"?
Father: it's the place we're moving to, it's a 1DLK, so it will be a bit cramped
Daughter: it's too small
Father: can't be helped, making ends meet on just Dad's salary alone is tough.
Father: I couldn't live in a special place like that
Father: Moe get your things together. You can move in as early as next week.
Daughter: to you, am I not special?

"I couldn't live in a special place like that"
Like what? no other place is mentioned.
Is there a missing page? or is it the apartment just for her?
(but that doesn't work with the salary issue; rent, utilities and groceries are cheaper for two living together then for two singles living alone)

Unless she is being sent to live alone I also don't get her "am I not special" remark. (she also should be happy with a small one bedroom as they would often be close and no one else can live with them and get in the way of her plans)
