had a nothing ending and that was after he bought it back from Kirara so he could give it an ending.

There's also at one point he planned chapter 18 as the ending, he changed his mind so its possible that we didn't get what he originally planned for it as an ending there but, we probably did and that would have left Onimai pretty unresolved and as a 'the fun continues...' series.
